Operating Principles

Client List

The MEU is committed to ensure that the services it provides to its clients significantly improve their operations and create long lasting value to their customers.  The operations of the Unit are guided by three key principles.

A Client-Focused Approach

Teamwork and the development of an excellent working relationship with client staff are a priority for the MEU in all its assignments.  We measure our success through our ability to work with and through client personnel. Our goal is to deliver a service that builds lasting improvements into a client's performance and one that extends well beyond the project's life cycle.

The formation of a project team that brings together MEU's consultants and client staff, provides the best opportunity for skills transfer between MEU and client organisations.  This ensures commitment to a common goal and promotes a culture of change and continuous improvement.

Excellence

In all its undertakings, MEU tailors its team of consultants to the specific requirements of each client and project. This is intended to provide the right mix of skills, knowledge and expertise and the best possible service.   Project work is also constantly monitored and examined by a Project Review Board to ensure that terms of reference are appropriately met, milestones are achieved, timeframes are observed and that the end result will add value to the client’s operations.

Based on its past experiences and successes, the Unit has developed model project methodologies to provide a framework that ensures a service of a consistently high quality.

Staff Development

To deliver a high quality service at all times, the Unit endeavours to continuously develop the skill base of its consultancy staff in order to reflect the evolving needs of its clients.  Professional development is therefore an ongoing process at MEU.

Following systematic and regular training needs analysis, every individual in the Unit is provided with the opportunity to follow training programmes to strengthen and broaden current skills and develop new competencies.

In-house staff development is also pursued. Senior consultants dedicate a lot of time and effort to mentor and coach junior staff. A system of regular reviews also ensures that members of staff receive performance evaluations and feedback to guide them in their career development.
