Business Process Re-engineering

In Strategic Planning and Review we focus on an organisation's Mission and consider whether an appropriate Vision and Strategy has been articulated for the achievement of this Mission.  The review of the clients' mission includes a thorough analysis of what is expected of the organisation as expressed in its legislative framework.

A strategic review will determine whether the organisation has a formalised process for strategic planning in which Strategic Objectives and Goals have been defined.  The organisation's Top Structure and Management Style are also reviewed with a view to assess its potential for effectively delivering the Mission.

The E-Government Vision and Strategy

The e-Government Vision and Strategy was drawn up by an MEU team - with input from MITTS Ltd in the consideration and articulation of programme options - working under the direction of the Central Information Management Unit.  The e-Government Strategy document was issued as a White Paper by Government in October 2000.

Creation of a Master Database of projects in Government Ministries

The Master Project Database is a management tool developed by the MEU to assist Government Ministries to keep track of their current projects.  The database contains information that is provided on a quarterly basis, and is owned by the Ministries themselves.   The database tool permits a large range of reports to be generated and tailored to the information needs of the Ministries as well as of Cabinet.  Based on these reports, Cabinet and the respective Ministries are in a position to assess their current management of the Ministry and Government as a whole.

Strategic Business Planning for the Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the MEU embarked on a process of developing a Ministry-wide integrated Business Plan and a mechanism that will facilitate the making of funding decisions among competing priorities within and outside the Ministry.  This was followed by the development of a strategy and a plan of action to secure the financial support for implementing the programme initiatives necessary for achieving the comprehensive mission of the Ministry.
